Back in the day I managed to cure poor running due to leaks in the rubber carb mounts by smearing silicone sealant around the outside surface of the mounts. It didn’t look too pretty but seemed to prevent air leaks through the splits in the rubber. Still had the same mounts in place years later at the point when I removed the 2 litre engine ready for a V8 upgrade.
1980 TR7 drophead now repainted and started refitting plus V8 upgrade

1981 TR7 drophead bodywork and mechanicals now done, completing trim currently.
