Carb mounts

A quick search of Rimmers and Robsport seems to indicate that these "repro" versions of the originals are no longer available. I know that they were not as good as the originals and have seen somewhere (Beans?) solid aluminium versions. Are these being manufactured and for sale anywhere?

In our club trip to Disneyland, the first morning the other TR7 wouldn't start as the carb mounts had split. We zip tied them up for rest of the trip. I believe they were going to stop at Moss Motors on the way back (for a tour) and to pick up some aluminum blocks. I wasn't with them as I separated to visit relatives in Solvang, I can't remember if they got them there or not. They used to be available on eBay. This was back in 2011. I remember reading Moss carries less/little TR7 parts now.

I had my own made, but the Dolomite Club sells them to club members.
Try a search on FB . There are a few others who sell them.

Back in the day I managed to cure poor running due to leaks in the rubber carb mounts by smearing silicone sealant around the outside surface of the mounts. It didn’t look too pretty but seemed to prevent air leaks through the splits in the rubber. Still had the same mounts in place years later at the point when I removed the 2 litre engine ready for a V8 upgrade.
1980 TR7 drophead now repainted and started refitting plus V8 upgrade
1977 TR7 fixedhead awaiting restoration
1981 TR7 drophead bodywork and mechanicals now done, completing trim currently.

I have done that for now, aluminum mounts are still to be purchased at some point. ( I promise to get round to it at some point) :roll:
If it's not broke don't fix it.

I supported my manifold with a couple of large stainless steel hose clips, used for connecting 4" lay flat hose to aluminium irrigation pipes about 15 years ago. Still going strong, with no sign of cracking. In compression it should last a while longer I expect.

No forced usage of E10 here in Queensland to increase deterioration of rubber either.

I bought mine from the Dolomite Owners Club (you have to be a member) and they are excellent. Fit and forget.
The picture is on my Sprint engine but they are the same as TR7.
