Randy is from Alaska. A regular on the WWWedge mailing list. Wait and see if he figures out how to add more info. We're all learning.

As for putting other people on the map, I ask them to tell me EXACTLY what they want me to put there. I figure a first name or email moniker at least, WHERE, and what kind of wedge(s) they have is pretty much the minimum, more if they want. I've added just a handful so far, most people are still figuring it out. LOTS of good photos from the UK folks. The US guys are kind of lacking there...

update: over 50 on the map already!

Definitely a nice idea to revive the map :) Thanks Clay for giving me the heads up on this!

KBA's now been added to the map :)

Ally's Atlas!

1. Go to http://tinyurl.com/wedgemap
2. "Sign in" to your Google account (upper right hand corner.

(anyone know how to do this if you're NOT a google account member?)
It seems I can add people (I added my brother and Phil) so in a
pinch, it might be that someone WITH a Google account will need to
add people who don't. :-(

3. Once you log in, the map will refresh and you'll see this is a
"collaboration" and the creator is Peter... and the map is called
"Ally's Atlas 2"

4. In the upper RH corner of that left hand panel there's an Edit
button. Click it. On the map panel now you'll see a tool kit in the
upper LH corner, a hand, a balloon, and a straight line tool. Don't
do anything just yet...

5. Find where you live (just the city is fine, zooming in closer
seems to be problematic). Select the balloon tool and place the X at
the bottom where you live.

(WARNING, once you select the balloon/pin tool, the only thing you
can do is plop it down on the map)

6. Add in info about yourself and car, whatever, and you're added.

7. Go back to the LH panel, click Save and then Done.

It's kludgy, VERY kludgy, but so was frappr...

Any other suggestions? I'll add you if you can't figure it out.
Just tell me where and what...

Jim

Why is Henk off the coast of Greenland? You in distress there buddy? You know these cars rust when exposed to salt water. [:D]

Can someone remind me how to add pictures? Mine seems to have dissappeared. I am in Rich Text but cannot seem to add one back.
Thanks

The easiest way is to copy/paste directly into a rich text placemarker. I put your sig pic on for you. You can also use the insert image icon on the tool bar to create a link to an image on another web site.

Hi
I'm new to the forum and by the looks of it the first to add a pin in South Africa.
I have 2 TR7 DHCs 1 1981 Pageant blue and 1 1979 red.

Welcome to the map, Bill.

Beans, I've moved you to the outskirts of Amsterdam. I wasn't able to sleep at night with you marooned in the middle of the Atlantic. I'll leave it up to you to move your marker closer to your actual address.

Henk, you need to replace your marker.

Never liked Amsterdam, so moved back to the south and the German border [;)]

Excellent idea/project! Does a Pennsylvania USA '76 TR7 FHC get a pin if some of it is at machine shop, parts at the sandblaster, body and engine in backyard, and E-brake still at the junkyard [:D]?
No matter, I'm looking ahead, I'm in.

Additions to the map are waning. Help spread the word. Let's get more wedges on the map. Anyone have more ideas how to reach more wedge owners? Another article in the various wedge-centric club mags?
