Only two weeks to go now. But somehow I don't think Sam Cobley is going to make it in time!

Come on Sam! You need to get that completion date forward by a week or two and then use the trip to Billing for the shakedown drive!!!

Just picked up on this thread and you guys cannot beleive how frustrating it is to be so close to completion but about two weeks short of time. I'm already spending at least 4 hours every day on the car(there had to be at least one upside of getting a divorce) and work is coming on very quickly but I fear I will make a mistake of some sort if i try to rush it any more than I am already. As with all projects like this there is always a flurry of parts ordered in the last few weeks, you know the bits you forgot to order or ordered and then lost (maybe thats just me) so I am using this show to pick up a parts order for the last few bits. I will be staying with friends over the weekend so expect to be there Saturday and Sunday and it would be nice if the forum members could meet on the Sunday for a pint and a pasty at some point in the day. At Stoneleigh this year it was great to meet John Clancy and PaulW but it would be nice to see the rest of you.

If it doesn't fit you obviously need a bigger hammer.

Hi Andy,

My current plan is to go up on the Sunday, & I have made some provisional arrangements to drive up with Jeff Poole who is hoping to take his TR8 (& he knows the way to Billing!).

Jeff is in Devon & I am in Dorset. Still got to finalise things with Jeff, but will probably meet him at Taunton so we can head up the M5. No times yet but will be an early start - I should think it will be 3 hours to Billing from Taunton.

What are your plans? PM me if you prefer.

I'm probably going to tow the TR up with the motorhome as it does more mpg with the TR on the back than the TR does on it's own... and it has a bed in it too.. Will probably go up fri pm and make a weekend of it.

As we're driving up before Sunday how about we all drive back together? I assume everyone will stay pretty much to the end on the Sunday??? Should make the long haul home more interesting.

Nice idea John - there could be quite a few of us heading back to Dorset/Devon/Cornwall.

Me and my dad were at billing on sunday with the fizzys at the sports moped show and the fields are great at the moment nothing compared to the pictures of the hot rods.

It may be more amusing to put a face to the wedge, seeing as we all
know each others drives so well on this forum.I'll be easy to spot-
"failed rawk star in a failed rawk stars car"!!Cant wait to meet the
'Scottish clan'and your cars,Steve.

See ya. Paul

I have just been talking to Billy (Scottish Grinnall)

He is unsure if he is now going to make it to billing

I am very sad about it as it would have been company for me on the way down and back up i even bought a new CB radio to talk to him On the journey

His car has some kind of problem

I have offered to give him a lift in my car but as yet he is still unsure about going

I think it will be a shame if he didn’t go as

I like Billy and a night in the beer tent without Billy’s fun and games won’t be the same ...[:(]

(Come on Billy you must go even if it is in my little 2.0L car … [:D] )
