I think each block is 1 cm so I get see about 113-115 mm up the back (4.4 - 4.5")

The other pictures look like 123 mm (4.84") front to back (I assume it is the seat base) and 100 mm side-to-side (3.93"). I am convinced that the pattern is not quite square.

It might be good to measure a door card. The fabric seems to be stretched more evenly in each direction and does not suffer from someone sitting on it for years. That is where I first discovered the anisotropy.

Good luck with the project. I sold about 22 meters of red over the course of the year or so and have had perhaps 2-3 inquiries per year since then. Since I put the red in my own car, it was worth it. But I was having trouble matching the green color (my color vision is not that great) and decided that the market for green was even smaller so I threw in the towel.

Yes - assumption above is correct, each block is 1cm. I use it for taking photos of stonework at work. It's used for archaeology, but is a great way of saving time when surveying and keeping a good record. (lazy or efficient - I let you decide!). The fabric isn't square, I think I vaguely remember from somewhere, that this is due to how it is woven.

I'm pretty sure that the original tartan was printed rather than woven. I assume the anisotropy is to give a nice fit both horizontally and vertically.

A TRDC member has had 20 metres produced. It's been done slightly darker than the original to try to ensure it never ever fades. I've been sent a swatch and it's a very good reproduction that should keep most of us anoraks happy enough. Steve (who's funded having it reproduced) is getting his seats recovered first and then he'll know how much has to be supplied to cover two seats and two door cards. Looks like his trimmer is booked up until March but given how long this has been unavailable it's not too much longer to wait.

As soon as everything is finalized I can let everyone have all the necessary details. If anyone is really desperate though let me know and I'll put you onto Steve.
