That's a shame John.

Wouldn't this make a fantastic club stand for the show.
If only we could replicate this we'd bring the TR7 to everyones attention.

Who's offering to make the stands ?
Gaz maybe [;)]

So, we just need to find three nice coupes and a early rally car (Steve are you offering), and with Gaz and his wood working skills and a few BL logos we're there.

That is a seriously good idea. Now I can immediately see that if we scale things down a bit an ordinary pair of ramps for the cars could be used and then we could build the wedgie 'shape of things to come' boards around those. The angle wouldn't be so high but it would make it fairly easy to do.

heh come on - so the DHC cars are now a bit like Austin Allegros & not included ?
You'd need a silver DHC too [:I]

Above are cheap & don't need fed for 3 days at the Show & are in the best possible taste.

I have a potted plant & a box of Thortons if it helps. James bond has my dinner suit & the 'gear' is safely tucked away [:p] [}:)]

Oh yes - the NEC is a not smoking area.

If we could do the dhc one and include the girl i dare say John125 would supply the silver dhc..[:D]

As for the other stand I personally think i could not be done ...[:(]

As the amount of wood needed would cost a small fortune

also the health and safety would have a field day because of the angle the cars would sit during the show.

Consider it available [8D]

If we do a replica 70's stand then how about 70's clothes to match ! ?

Cheers John

Stevie, if you used car ramps (or even axle stands) no wood would be required as the whole thing could be knocked up in card and Colorama studio paper.

The drophead wouldn't work within the theme though as it doesn't quite have the retro look vital to such a stand. We'd have to have a big area to be able to fit one or two additional drophead cars on so we'd probably have to do without for one year.

What I want to know is what they did to the handbrakes to make those cars sit on a slope for the duration of the show without rolling off through the crowds! [:D]
