really good show, sunburnt face and worn out legs. but didnt take any pictures, we had 10 cars on trdrivers pitch 2 were spitfires. and another couple of sevens across the site. sunday was a track day with many of the exhibitors taking the opportunity to blast around the track in groups of 1 -10 later in the afternoon there must have beenn practise/ training of some sort as what looked like formula ford size motors were racing round. very enjoyable one for next year for sure.[8D]

if you factor in the earth's rotation, we are all speeding

It was a great show, lots of varied cars to look at, both on the field and during the track cavalcade, my favourite moment of which was when a rally prepared yellow Ford Escort was thrown off the track for "hooning around"!

Oulton Park is a great venue, the ground conditions were pretty much perfect despite the rain we've had, it has great facilities and is set in a lovely rolling parkland landscape. Not only that but its one of our best race circuits as well.

On Sunday there were eight 7's on the TRDC pitch and two more scattered around on other clubs areas.
Some pics of the day;

Great to see so many really enthusiastic TR7 owners, and different cars on each day! The difference a bit of sunshine makes!!! I'm so pleased I brought my car for the display on the Sunday, 6:00am on a clear, sunny Sunday morning is the perfect time to drive, especially in your favourite classic!!

I know Jim and Chris will help to really 'plug' this event for 2013, this venue is ideal for our cars. Some friends that camped over said they thought the evening bar and Disco were really good, they even had their evening meal in the restaurant on the Friday. The camping area has proper toilets and proper showers and they were able to take their cars back to the caravan overnight.

There is also a village pub just 1 mile from the circuit (there used to be one even nearer but it closed recently). The nearest one was where all the 'D' type Jags and Astons used to pull up for a drink after racing in the 1950's.

Thanks Jim for looking after my motor and thanks to everyone for supporting the new event, the photo's of the show are great and will hopefully convince a few more TR7's to join us next year!

When I saw those TR7's on the track I really wanted to take mine out but I didn't have my licence with me, oh well! ....next year!!!
Cheers
Stuart
