Update and I have actually used BRP again - see the video!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt0rQYGo ... ffQEHbN8P5

Not a great result as it was the co-driver's first ever event but where we didn't go wrong on the tests we were actually quite quick.

I had also taken part in the Speedfair Rally at Knockhill in July and got into the "shoot out" and into the last 6[:)] If only I hadn't put one of the rear tyres off the tarmac and onto some gravel[:I]

The trouble is the engine is making some very loud knocking noises from the bottom end, in fact you can hear it on the video. It's a shame as the Sprint engine is great to use and sounds great too - lots of revs!

Now I need to build a new engine for the car.

But I'll be using the DHC in Club Triumph events again next year so not the end of competition in TR7s[:)]

And the Manx? Just 4 years now before I can get a licence to co-drive so it's not over by any means.

Next update June 2012.

The opening along that single track lane with the stone walls at either side looks pretty spectacular. Well done Martin.

Just goes to show there's some good motorsport to be had even if I can't get a comp licence[:)]

What I really need is to build a reliable 16Valve engine and get some consistency with a co-driver. In fact after this event I swore I would never do another event like this without Sarah (my co-driver on rallies).

She has continued to do stage rallies so is getting some good experience in[;)]

I would imagine it's a learning experience all the time Martin and if you were to do another event with the same co-driver you'd understand each other better. Stick with it.

And good luck with the 16 valve engine too, sounds like the big ends were knocking a bit which ain't too much of a problem to fix.

Well my "quarterly" update is another knockback I am afraid.

On March 20th I had another seizure.

So that's 12 months until I can drive again and the clock is reset stage rally wise to another 5 years until I can co-drive.

2017 seems a long way away.

So BRP is going into storage for two or 3 years. I'll be working on my 2000 saloon for use next year as well as my DHC for the next big event, Club Triumph's 10 Countries Run in September 2013[8D].

Sorry to read of your setback, Martin. You will have the saloon & the DHC in perfect order ready for 2013!

All the best.
