Rheostat

Postby Milanoverde » 02 Jun 2018 15:46

O
I am trying to take out the light rheostat because the panel it's mounted in is messed up. My issue is that I can't figure how to do it. There is a metal washer that surrounds the nut that holds the rheostat in place and prevents access.
I can't get that off so I can access the nut and remove it.
Has anyone done this? Thanks

This washer is it quite thick and has 2 or 4 notches on its visible face?... If so then it's actually a nut, that requires a special tool to remove, although you can usually undo these nuts with a pair of right-angle internal circlip pliers.

That's it! I'll try the checkup pliers. Thanks.

The circlip plier I have werent strong enough. I had a pair of needle nose pliers which were bent at 90 degrees. That did it easy. thanks.
