Stickers and Labels TR7 TR8 and variants!

Too many people duplicate work that others already have done ... if you're having something remade then tell us about it! Success and Disasters, they are all useful to know about!

Stickers and Labels TR7 TR8 and variants!

Postby XSeries » 26 May 2018 01:00

Following on from a meeting at Billing a couple of years ago when I surveyed some people about the stickers and labels for our cars, I have started on the task!
I have not been impressed with many of the reproduction labels and have taken to having 95%+ accurate ones made. I now have over 35 different labels - with several variants of some as they developed so the correct label can be put on the right car. As an example I have had the early (and later) headlamp warning stickers re done - for those with circular plugs. I have 6 different catalyst labels and 3 Unipart ones. I have also redone the unleaded fuel sticker for the dashboard so that it is with rounded edges and rounded frame as per the original Jaguar part.

I have 6 emission labels for the TR8 - but need more good photos and part numbers! I also have some UK TR7 emission labels as well as the early car 4 language label.

Prices vary from £1 to £8 depending on the size.

I will have all available at Gaydon for the TRDC National in July next month.

I am happy to ship worldwide - the couple of very large ones will cost more to post as the envelope will need to be over 10 inches in some cases and may not be in the cheapest air mail category as a result.

Very good effort - looks like we have duplicated between us on a few - let's have a chat at the National

Trying to sort into early cars and later, but realise that I need even more display space as I cant fit them all in! Around 26 for 1978 onwards and 13+ for up to 77

Excellent work Brian ol' chap. I'll have a set off you for my 1977 car please. Just let me know the cost when you are ready and I'll rob a bank.

John,
I have since added another half dozen to the images shown - including a TR8 a/c compressor, the brake servo unit, a TR7/8 E11 and E2 sticker and a Non catalyst (1976) label amongst others! I will need to know details of your car VIN (though the parts books do not list anywhere near the number of labels I have available). There are some labels that are mainly for Speke cars, some for Canley and then ones for Solihull. In addition there are UK and US specifications (49 state and California), TR7, Sprint and TR8 etc etc.

I will bring the complete range of over 40 to Gaydon and discuss what you need! Prices are on size / cost of set up but are from around £1 to £8.

See you in a month!
Brian

I don't suppose I'll get to Gaydon this year Brian. It's not just up the road from here and I have so many other events I have to get to. My car is ACG16000 and something if that helps. I did save all the original stickers before the rebuild 20 years ago but never put them back on, a couple have since disappeared and the big one inside the bonnet was tattered already.

There are up to 10 labels that would fit your car, but it is pick and mix time! You might have some or not want them all. I will be making the one for the fuse box panel if there is demand (I have done one for the TR8 but not the TR7 as yet).

TR7 emission label under bonnet £7
Large 4 language under centre of bonnet £8
Headlamp (circular connectors) £3.50
Brake and Clutch (on strut near brake servo) £2.40
Battery boost start (on strut near battery) £1.50
Air filter box (on air filter) £2
E11 E2 (on strut with brake and clutch label) £2
Important Unipart £1.80
Tyre Pressure either 175 70 or 185 70 (in glove box) £2
NB this should be on a metal plate not a sticker
choose which is appropriate for the car
Brake Servo (on outside of cylinder) £1
The set comes to £31.20, but it is the size of a couple of the large ones that makes it expensive!

Considering an incomplete and incorrect set from Rimmers is £25 then £31 is a bargain methinks!

Those are the labels Brian. I'll have a set when or if you get them done.

They are all ready (image attached to post on 1 June shows the actual labels in a couple of display boards) - but if you want a glove box label then what tyres do you have 175/70 or 185/70?
Postage and packing will be £2.20 for signed delivery to also insure (I recently had some fuel and rear light gaskets go astray and the post office sent me a cheque for £21 to cover the loss!).

Well, I'm supposed to have 175 tyres as standard but of course, I went for 185s the last couple of times I changed them. So I'd like a 175 label just so the car retains its completely standard appearance. Shall I send a cheque?

Looking good Brian, do you have the under bonnet label for the 1980 carbed TR8.

That one is still work in progress - it should be finished in the next week (now completed!). That was label number 49 - now on to 56!

Interesting to note the different spelling of carburettor and carburetter on the SAME label! I thought I had made a mistake at one stage when adding the text. The font used is tricky as the N and M are wider than standard. This label is now finished, but I need a 1979 template for a Carb car if anyone has one?
