Sold the wrong Hood Bag Doh...bugger

Postby bonnietiler » 20 Apr 2017 11:02

My Tr7 has the Rollbar fitted and I like the poltroon that I am have sold the wrong bag...ho hum...
So I have a beautiful mint factory genuine hood bag that will not fit..so my alternatives as I see it are to cut this bag...not sure about that one..wait for a correctly recut hood bag to appear on a well known Auction website...I could always remove the roll bar,,cos its really only for show isn't it but I failed the how to remove test.
Clearly the three either side bolts behind the seats are obvious and the outer bolt can be accessed vis the rear wheel well but how do I get at the inner bolt?
Any ideas please much appreciated
Cheers
Brian

There are a few people on here that have had the cover reshaped by a trimmer and what I have seen always been a good job.
If it's not broke don't fix it.

A friens had his hood cover made by a boat upholstery place if you live by the water (they work in vinyl) to fit his roll bar. They should be able to rework a stock one I would imagine.

Like your hand into the murky recesses at each side of the petrol tank and with gorilla like arms reach round the side of the car and undo,or you could get an assistant.Steve.
