while it does appear to be clean and straight , I'd want to see a whole lot better pics than what has been presented before leaving a deposit [;)]

At twice the average market price I'd demand absolute perfection, which unfortunately from what little we see in the photos, does not seem to be there. (I.E. tarnished engine compartment accessories, visible wear on the drivers seat,non-original exhaust, battery ect )

Well that is quite a bit less than I have spent on my 7 in the last 18 months, including air con, paint & the new engine.

It would depend, if all the rubber has been replaced including bushes in everything. It probably still has 30+ year old seals in the gearbox & rear axle, & the original radiator & fuel tank among others things. If you did it yourself it should not be too expensive, but lots of labor could be involved.

I looked at a 30,000 Km DHC, but when I found it on the original tyres it reminded me of how much work would be involved in replacing every bit of rubber in the car, & ran away.

Know what you mean but I found it quite cheap - I bought mine with 6800 miles on the clock 4 years ago on it's original tyres / suspension etc - took only £200 for some German made tyres & £500 to renew all the suspension rubber / springs / shocks / Struts / radius arms ( DIY )& it is tight as a drum like new 4,000 miles later.

Ron is right with the photos - a bit poor & not quite mint - although there must be a deal to be done as it won't be running out of the showroom quickly.

There is always a deal as seen in the UK at present:
A Dealer who is selling the car for the owner so takes a big commission or you go direct to the Owner - a big difference for the same car £3,000 !

As I am looking at W107's to change the TR, know the Dealer can be competitive but still more expensive - although I prefer the cream to the black interior - dicission dicissions [;)]

Not everything is perfect but a nice example none the less assuming the underside looks as good. Won't get that price but you won't know if you don't try. Brings back the memory about 7 years ago of an immaculate TR8 at Brits on the Beach, a guy was asking $14,000 for.

The price would only be applicable to a 1981 or 80 TR8 in immaculate condition. It's also a 79........... Another dealer trying to get someone to over pay 2 to 3 times more than its worth. It will not sell. He should just use it as a shop car to get parts![:D]
