Door card installation

Postby nick » 03 Apr 2013 22:04

There is a vinyl piece on the bottom of the door cards that is longer than the inside of the door. Does that get turned out and glued to the bottom of the door between the door and the sill?

No. You don't want to do anything that will trap water.

So what do you do with it?

It's just tuck up against the backside of the door card as you snap in the clips.

That's weird. It seems to have no purpose.

On mine they were just hanging out the bottom and had sort of formed themselves around the bottom of the door. Based on everything else about the car I doubt anyone had ever taken them off before so I assumed it was weird but intentional. . Now I've been in there so many times I could take them off in my sleep, but I've left them hanging out. Guess I'll go tear my doors down again!

I always thought it was an additional weatherstripping of sorts.
