well after two weeks on and off i still cant get the bloody alternator off my saab(replace with vauxhall vectra)convertible as can find no way to access the top bolt, did same as on here and posted for help, so far had two replies telling me theres a pulley in the way but no solution, so have given up on the forum, bitten the bullet and bid on a haynes manual, must be new cars and alternators, when the one went on my focus i had to remove half the car to get to it....... my next daily driver if not a tr7 is going to be a morris minor i think............[:I]

Sounds simple. To take out the alternator on my Integra I had to remove left hand front axle from transaxle, remove lower alternator mounting bracket and drop the alternator down the space now provided (barely fit through). Had to replace the wire clip on the axle on reinstall as it is not recommended to reuse old one. All for naught as it wasn't the alt. but a vampire drain though the graphite lube I had used in the ignition lock.
