2012 Tally

Postby trekcarbonboy » 02 Jan 2013 00:22

2012 Tally: 22 days out in the TR7, 527 miles. [:(]
Sad totals for sure. I put double the miles on my bicycles even. Considering I wasn't able to sort out the brakes till the end of August its not so bad.
2013 goal...double the miles. (at least) [:)]

about 1000 kms total from April to December....the electrical gremlins inside my dashboard cut down on my wedge time traveling, and most of the kilometers were done this fall once I finally located the problem
...... but the odometer did hit 60,000kms this year[:D][:D]

-I also do a fair amount of cycling...and it was such a nice summer the bike got used primarily over the car both for pleasure and back + forth to work!

About 5000 miles in the TR7 so down considerably on 2011. Given the cost of fuel that ain't a bad thing.

Number of problems - nil. (No change on the 2011 figure there then.)

Not sure how many miles/Km. but used it exclusively from mid July till end of September during which we had no rain. Retired so only driving is to into town for supplies (often used for an excuse to go for a drive with that sun shining bright). Went over to Vancouver for Van Dusen on Victoria Day weekend, ABFM Picnic in the Park on Fathers Day, Brits on the Beach on July 21, Filberg ABFM on August 18, ABFM Portland 21 (740 Km.)

No where near 2011 were I did over 4,700 Km. in one trip.[8D]

Not sure how many days in total but between May and October covered around 2700 miles (split between two insurance years due to a 2000 mile limit on the policy). Mostly these miles were a week long tour of Scotland in May and a long weekend in Wales in October. Not sure why people are talking about bicycles but mine is in much worse repair than the TR7 and didn't go anywhere at all in the last 12 months.

Just checked my records. This year it will only be about 1000 miles which is well down on my usual 5/6000. Anyway 2013 will see it in the 10CR which will add 2.5-3K miles of great driving.

Happy new year to everyone

Quite a sad year for me.

DHC only been out 3 times, covering just over ±500km.
FHC was used slightly more, 13 days covering ±3500km.

One of my worst TR7 years so far, my illness didn't help there [B)]
But 2013 should be better ... famous last words [:D]

I think I did roughly 1000 miles of smiles in 2012. Head gasket is now weeping. Only gonna get a few more miles on her before I gotta replace it!
After that, next up is the new braided clutch line, oil pump (thats been dripping and driving me nutz [:p]), fog lights and Drive Her! [8D]

I clocked just under 6,000 miles in 2012, my first full year of using the TR8 as my daily driver.

Happy New Year TR7 people
Went for a spin on New Year's Eve around the lanes of the north Lakes with my brother in law whose flashy new Tahiti blue car in 1975/6 inspired my own interest in TR7s over the years.

The odometer now reads 38,001 miles whichis 3,308 miles more than car had when purchased in April. Most of the mileage has been made up with a trip to Newark Kit car show (600 odd miles round trip in a weekend), sunny day? :) commuting and recreational trips around and about.
Insurance limit is 5k and I think I will be somewhere near that come the spring, car is going fairly well but would benefit from a bit of tuning and the ubiquitous electric gremlins ironing out!
