Hi from a Ori TR7 owner

Hey gang, I just joined.

I bought a 1980 TR7 convertable new in 1981. It's been in the garage sitting idle for about 10 years.

I'm getting ready to fire it up again.

Good luck & you will find plenty of help on this site if it doesn't start.
Lots of guys in the USA are on here too, so some might even be local to you.
Always worth mentioning what part of the country you are in.

Might want to change the petrol before you fire it up or connect a petrol can to the fuel pump suction.

OK, thanks. I'm in Boyds, MD, 30 miles north of Washington, DC.

How do I connect a petrol can to the fuel pump suction? Do I just run a fuel line to the bottom of the petrol can?

Now I am not 100% sure of the USA Spec engine fuel system but think if you look in the engine bay where the metal fuel pipe comes from the fuel tank, this maybe on the passenger side of engine bay.

Disconnect the rubber pipe which joins this metal pipe to the fuel pump near the oil filter.
Might want to clamp to line from the fuel tank to stop leakage.
Run a new length of fuel rubber pipe onto the fuel pump & have enough length to put into a can of petrol which can sit on engine mount near the fuel pump.

Hopefully one of your US Guys can confirm - Washington DC also rings a bell & think someone on this site lives there.

Oh yes you can download a TR7 Works Manual from this site which helps
