Got the TR7v8 Rally Car taxed on Saturday morning, after 6 months off the road, and managed an 'enjoyable' drive down the North East coast from Blyth to Tynemouth and through Whitley Bay and surrounding areas, covering about 30 miles. I mention enjoyable, because I love driving this car but it's very uncomfortable!
I also taxed the TRv8 DHC and went for a 20+ mile drive with the roof down. Lovely weather and enjoyable drive, but the temperature gauge was moving between half and three quarter so still a problem to look at.
The daily driver TR7 FHC has been having temperature issues recently and after a leak/pressure test it seems the head gasket may be letting coolant into the combustion system. Car booked in on Wednesday for a replacement head gasket. Seems a bit premature since the car has had a new short block less than 5000 miles ago (2003) and and new head, with new gaskets, less than 3000 miles (2007).
