del lines information

Postby birminghamtr7 » 25 Jul 2011 18:49

i had a look at a tr7 today whilst i was out on a job, as you do.
very cheap sub £1000 but great condition, i noticed the vin plate was missing and a small plate witha DL number on it. I know this to be a DEL LINES thing the number from memory was DL1884 i didn't want to pay to much attention as the vendor was completly unaware of this.
but the car was a 2 litre i thought all del lines did was v8 conversions, it could have been converted back i suppose is there any register for del lines

if you factor in the earth's rotation, we are all speeding

birminghamtr7,

Yes del lines did do 2 litre TR7, basically they do what you wanted to your own spec with various options. For example if going for the TR7 V8 you could have a converted SD1 power steering rack or for double the amount a genuine RHD TR8 power steering rack was available then.

I think the first two numbers used was the Year e.g. 81 and the last two digit the number built in that year by del lines garage.

I have the Register of the 54 cars that Del Lines converted. If you would like to send me details: Registration, body, colour, tech spec too then I will see what additional information I can supply you. PM if you want to steveredway@aol.com, or on here, I don't mind.
Kind regards
Steve
