Oil Pressure Sensor, Leaks Again!

Out running some errands in the 7 and the car was running GREAT! I even thought to myself how nice it was running. Got home only to see a large puddle of oil under the car.[:(] From where it was I figured it was the oil sensor. So I started the car and out the oil squirted! Fortunately I keep a spare on hand so this will be a quick fix. I hope the oil level didn't drop too low. The dash light never came on and I have no idea how long it was leaking, car sounded fine so I don't think any harm was done. This is the 2nd one in about 20K miles! Why make such a crappy part for such an important part of the engine!?[:(!]
I hope everyone keeps a spare one in the car.

are you shure you didnt tear out the thread in the oil transfer case?

Yup! The oil is coming right out the plastic of the sensor. Can't miss it.

Some things don't change.

The same thing happened with my Golf a few months ago.......

After market parts again. You never know what their quality is. (I keep a spare in trunk but the original is still going strong). Just a few miles before the Port Angeles ferry the TR6 in the group had his heater valve start leaking on his exhaust manifold again. He had asked the supplier (Octagon Motors) what sort of crap they are selling him. They apologized saying that's the sort of crap they get these days, nothing they can do.

All better now. Lost less then a half a quart so I followed the oil trail down the street and as best I can tell it started leaking less than 1/4 mile from home. LUCKY me!
