New Shocks

Postby prlee » 17 Apr 2011 18:00

Replaced the rear shocks today. The AVO's came off at last, they were a bad decision, they whistle and click and bottom out.

The new shocks are KYB from S&S, matching the front shocks.

A transformation - the ride is much more comfortable and the handling not diminished. Overall the major improvements have been replacing the suspension bushes and the shocks but keeping the standard springs has produced a car I am now very happy with, it feels like a sports car.

My 7 is similar Pete, so obviously I must agree with you.

All urethane bushes, new shocks similar to stock & springs reset to stock, but perhaps just a few mm lower. The only difference is I have 30% heavier anti roll bars, front & rear, as they make such a difference to the 8.

They have little effect on comfort, or handling, until you get really serious, so still a great daily driver, without the disadvantages of going too far with the modifications.
