TRDC national weekend

He he: Loading the car to leave now. ETA Billing miday Saturday. Looks like terrible weather forcast!! Not coming in the TR - Battery died yesterday, plus curious misfire problem.

I will be there in my Grey Vectra Estate with Luxembourg plates.

1980 DHC TR7-V8 (was an 8V, then a Sprint)
Back on the road after 3 years restoring...

Car now loaded just to fill up with the <s>beer</s> fuel for the journey

Will leave about 7am in the morning so with about 360 miles and about 6 hours drive

Should arrive about 2 or 3 pm traffic and coffee stops added

Looking forward to it

I have been unable to persuade Scottish Grinnall to come so it will be just me then

Anyway see you all soon

Look forward to seeing you Stevie.I've just started cleaning the v8
after the fun and games with my fuel regulator,might be a waste of
time if it rains.Me an' Rob will aim to get there 11'ish,going up the
M11 and along the A428 thro' Bedford stopping for breakfast/beer/fuel
along the way.(1 b'fast stop/1 beer stop/many fuel stops!)

i was really looking forward to coming along but due to work i am going to miss it. However but by some twist of fate i am working in wellingborough saturday should be done by 1 -2 oclock and mileage checked billing is less than 6 miles / 7 mins according to route planner although i still cant do sunday would it be me worth popping by saturday afternoon save wasting rest of my day.

Saturday is usually for setting up, doing the road run and evening entertainment, the main day to see all the cars is Sunday. There are a few cars on Saturday but most go on the run between 2-30 and 4-30.

Just to let all know...
The "boil water" restriction has been lifted, Anglian water have fitted ultra violet equipment at treatment works, and all clear was given 2pm yesterday (friday)
So no need to bring bottled water with you.
Makes more space for beer!!![:D]

Despite the weather I think this was probably my favourite national weekend ever. It was great to see the line up of rally cars. The highlight for me was a ride in the CCC rally car in the road run on Saturday afternoon, really good.

Yes Phil,a really enjoyable weekend.Great to meet so many forum usersand your cars.Wayne's brace of Grinnalls were my choice,his 4L
with the big (sorry,BIG!)arches make me ssooo jealous as does John215
with that stage 3 4.6l both awesome wedges.Good to see Samco,his car
is very near completion-cant wait to see it.sorry i did'nt get much
chance to chat with you TR Tony,but ther was so much going on.
The road run was fantastic,so many sevens in a row.Dont think the
local villagers knew what hit'em!Hand's up who floored it in that
tunnell...i know i did! Stevie and Laurence,me and Rob salute you!
your both excellent company,why'd ya both have to live so far away!

It was a great weekend, we all enjoyed it immensely. Good to meet a few people, and to put names to faces even if I didn't meet them. So many TRs there - an inspiration to get mine running. The Â£50 of Robsport vouchers will help with that [:D]

well i just got back.... spent an extra night there it was fantastic to see so many wedges together i'm not sure if spoke to anyone of the forum much i didn't really mention who i was (shy i supose) any way stevie a i was driving the motorhome that was just in front of you as you were just entering the gate at billing on Saturday afternoon.
samco spoke to you as you know... nice guy
and what a nice guy phil humprey is ....
Chris Turner im sorry i didn't meen to interupt your conversation with simon from S&S (i was dropping off a cylinderhead)
and john clancy you commented on my t shirt lol oh and i commented your very practical "water keeperouterer on your petrol cap"

any way next year i'll be there again........ only next time i will bring my 7 and then there will be no hiding away in the background

Great to put names to some forum faces, did not get chance to speak to all of you, hope you all enjoyed the event despite the wind and rain. Thanks to Kevin M/Phil Humphries/Chris/Phil and Claire Hoyle/Val/Kev and Mags/Roel and Rex/Jim and his mate for the road run. See you next year.

This year the TRDC National will have a TR7/TR8/TR7 V8 day at Billing Aquadrome, Northampton on 6th July.
Please accept this as a sincere invitation from the TR Drivers Club to attend this event - All TR7/8/V8 owners from all clubs are invited.
No stuffy concours will be running, but there will still be trophies and spot prizes up for grabs. To make things even more interesting some very special sporting vehicles are attending making up a display of cars not to be missed.
Billing will charge a day rate of Â£10 to enter the park if you mention the TR Drivers Event.

I did not see you on Saturday but as soon as I seen the photo of the wee one I knew I had seen you

I was driving out on Sunday I seen the mini tr and the kiddie in it and had chickel thinking well there is another mini tr7 owner in the making
