Gill and I just got back today in KBA, which I only received back from the garage 2 days before we set off for France after a head gasket failure and jackshaft seizure resulting in engine having to be removed and re-worked. Only being able to get about 130 miles on the clock after this, meant a tense journey from Norfolk to Channel Tunnel, and from Calais to Le Mans with an overnight stay near Bernay. Camping was good, though virtually sleepless till Sunday, with about 350 Triumphs at Tetra Rouge, and the TR7s shown above, never seemed to meet any TR7 owners other than the usual suspects, Howard B, Jim J, Simon B, and a Dutch guy.
Did not get to meet Syol as his photo shoot clashed with the ill fated laps, which we did not do as at one point in the fruitless chase around the circuit as directed by stewards our pass was apparently scanned as laps completed. Weather was hot, in the 40s, we spent most days chasing shade. Great drive on the way back over nighting at St Valery en Caux on the coast in a fantastic converted barn.
Best part for me was the night races, and wandering round the paddocks when the 80s and later era cars where started, the engines making your chest vibrate.

Love the photos Syol and surprised to see RYF included!

Eric and myself got back to Aberdeenshire at 10.00 this morning after arriving into Dover at 10.50 pm last night - just over 600mls.No food stops, just 3 short fuel/ comfort stops and sat at 70 wherever possible. Absolutely delighted with the car - never missed a beat and this included a dash down from St Valery en Caux in the afternoon and an 85 -90mph sprint down the peage in an effort to catch our ferry at 5. Got there at 4.55 but the buggers wouldn't let us on, even although they were still loading freight. Never mind - the sprint engine will be in in 2012 and we wont be late!

Another great classic and well done to all those who work so hard behind the scenes

Nice photos - I will add some more in the next day or two. I tried to count how many 7's were around but lost track since they never stayed in one place for that long - there were more down in Maison Blanc including another one in Oporto Red which is about as rare a hen's teeth.

The track laps were good fun - we were in the convoy from Tetre Rouge to the circuit which got split just opposite the main entrance leaving me at the front of the second part.By the time we got onto the bugatti circuit, the guys at the front were just completing their run, which caused some confusion.....

We eventually got onto the track about 1pm & had a blast :) Safety car took it slowly for the first circuit, then took off for the second. Dave took some great photos of us going through the Dunlop S's
