Jesus, i know it's pretty obvious but can you explain what happened with that suspension arm Ron?

The thing that throws me is the condition of the metal around the failure such as the arm itself, the spring and ARB, it doesn't look too bad!

When I first saw some pics of the damage the p.o. had sent me before buying the car, the arm was starting to tear away like the o.p's java car.....I had the car shipped on a open transporter where it was chained down, and think that they aggravated the damages a fair amount during shipment.

On closer inspection when I got it on a lift inside the shop, it was probably a result of the usual corrosion in that area that so many cars suffer,(it had a few soft spots) and maybe a final impact with something solid.

Hence the reason I would have removed the rear floor pan, and sectioned in a clip with the right rear rail to repair. While contemplating the repair I had viewed about 4 other parts car trying to find a good candidate to strip, but they were all rotted in the same area....I think it was Moss or Rimmers who sells new rear floor pans and rails, which would require extra labour, but would be more stronger than welding rusted panels (which is likely the way the guy who bought my car fixed it judging by what I can see when peeking under the car this summer )

Ron.
