Hi, without removal first, how do you know if you need a 6 vane or 12 vane pump please ?

The age of the car will give you a clue but it's not foolproof - what year was it manufactured?

That would be 12 vane. Unless a PO switched back to 6 vane, stranger things have happened (just not often).
