Nice Day For A Run

Postby FI Spyder » 25 Apr 2013 00:46

It was sunny and warm and I just replaced the door seal on drivers side to replace torn one and glued on a piece of neoprene on the passenger door rubber block so had to take it on a run into town to test. When coming out of Rona, there was a guy waiting for me. He was from the interior and wanted to see the car as he had two TR7's and a TR8 at home. He couldn't believe the car wasn't restored and was all original. We talked for half an hour or so then went on my way to finish my supply run. On the way back I stopped in at the government wharf at Maple Bay to snap a picture of odometer (now I can say I have a low mileage TR7) and another to show how calm the ocean was. It's as warm as it looks, no top down diving with heater going full blast for me.

Looks very pretty Spyder, but probably too damn cold for a Queenslander.

At least as you heat up a bit, our prolonged wet season appears to be dissipating, so some more pleasant motoring to be had here as well.

I was planning a similar photo when mine read all the sixes, [66666], but with the slipping water pump impeller I totally missed it.

HIya, Friend! Glad your weather is allowing for some top down driving. B.C.'s landscapes are the perfect backdrop for your Spider, Merv. Both are lovely! Out of curiosity, is this the 1st time the odometer has flipped? I can't recall how long you have had the Spider, but I know you enjoy driving and go on long trips. Won't be low miles for long! [;)] Love it!!

First time it's flipped. I've had it for 7 years now and while I'm always up for a good road trip, don't forget I live on an island (albeit a big one). Next trip is the Van Dusen Gardens All British Field Meet on Victoria Day, May 18. Stay tuned. Over 600 cars and over 6,000 attendance, too many MGB's, a dozen or so Spitfires in immaculate shape, rare cars (even a Lea-Francis) and only a handful of TR7's (only two last year). That would be only 1 more TR7 than McLaren P1's. [:p]

It's supposed to be in the 80s here for the next 4 or 5 days. I've been driving the TR8 to work and any other errands that I can. The new battery seems to have made it run better.

70's and sunny, 8 days in a row. [:D] Good thing I just finished the carb swap and master cylinder rebuild!
