A brilliant weekend

Postby Ianftr8 » 19 Nov 2012 16:47

Firstly it was slightly longer than normal as I was able to spend Friday up at the NEC looking round the fine array of cars, bikes and vans of all sorts and standards.
It is always a great day when you can meet up with good friends from all over the country with a common interest - the Drivers Club stand was as ever a fine collection of super cars complete with the yellow line up.
I am absolutely made up with the drawing I collected from John Clancy - Harris Mann has drawn a stunning DHC and it will take pride of place on the wall in my office.

Sunday - was spent at the "Charity Race Day" at Snetterton in Norfolk, where I had been invited to join other classic cars including some other TRs. We were showing members of the public what it is like to ride in a sportscar at speed and raise some money for a good cause.
I have to say that I have well and truly blown the cobwebs from my TR8 and she is now running like a dream - I was most pleased with the handling, at 110mph we were rock steady and feeling pretty confident. The brakes are feeling loads better too - have taken the glaze off the drums and disks at last.

Triumphs have been part of my life for a little over fourty years and this weekend counts as one of the best!

Ian, missed you on Friday, glad you picked up the print, will see you at Stoneleigh.
Its no coincidence that the FHC print is red, Harris Manns favourite TR7 is a Pimento red Speke car, it has a 7 in its reg number.
