My Morning Today

Postby FI Spyder » 11 Nov 2012 02:22

It's the fourth and final day of sunshine on the west coast and when we get that it's bitter cold (for a Floridian) just above freezing so I'll take the TR7 (first time in weeks) to get supplies. As I go inland I see frost on the orange trees (OK, I got carried away with this Florida thing) make that apple trees as it gets cooler as you get away from the water. First stop is The Real Canadian Superstore (Loblaws) for some flyers stuff and day old large blueberry pie 50% off if you get there early.

On to Windsor Plywood to pick up some trim (6' so it fits in car). No picts. Then it's on to Home Hardware to pick up some cartons of thick vinyl tile I had ordered, very heavy.

Then it's on to Wal-mart to get some more flyer food, soup, Honey Bunches of Oats cereal ($2) etc.

Then to Canadian Tire to check out their flyer sale on electric fireplaces. No pictures as the batteries in camera went dead. On home going the rural Herd Road run. Fill up the freezer and pantry. Car was chalk full of groceries. Car ran great at freezing temps even shifted into 2nd pretty nice. Safe in the garage till next dry day. That was my morning.

Nice. I used the excuse that none of the other cars had any gas in them to take mine out on Wednesday. I took the head off of my son's Saab to the machine shop down in southeast Portland. It was sunny when I left but got cloudy and a bit cold on the way home. I still don't have a working heater. It was still a nice drive. Only about the third time I have ever driven it with the top up.

its been so cold + dry outside I've been using my car daily for a while now ....those who put their cars away early do know what they are missing ...heck if it keeps up like this I might only store the car in December when the snow tire law kicks in!

We have a snow tire law too. If it snows, it's time to retire.[:p]

Took my car to Home Depot today. When a guy in the parking lot saw the 10 foot pvc pipe sticking out the window he said I need a truck. My reply... I have one. [:D]

Yeah we are prolly the only province (maybe even in north america?) that between December 15 and march 15th it's illegal to drive without snow tires on all wheels regardless of the type of vehicle. Hence anything specialty gets stored .........(its a stupid law made to protect against the ignorant fools who lease cars and think they can drive in the snow and ice with 3year old 4 season tires because they are too cheap to install decent tires before returning their vehicles)
