This morning i tried one of the compare sited that we all use for our daily drives to get a good deal

well I think it is better to just use the phone to the usual suspects

as when i tried it for the Triumph it came up with this

It can be hard to make sense of car insurance companies at times.

We bought my youngest daughter a nice little Daewoo [Yep Korean again] from friends, when she was just 18. We paid only $1000, but wanted to insure it to protect her from the cost of any damage she may do with it.

The cheapest quote for a $1000 policy was $2400. The most ridiculous thing was that the same company offered a third party damage policy for $125.

As the largest part of any claim, on a $1000 car was most likely to be the damage done to any car it hit, this did not make much sense to me, but we were pleased to accept their policy.

I just add my TR to the classic policy I have for my other car - it adds about £12 per month - and it's only taxed and insured for 3 or 4 months during summer.

Now that has to be an oxymoron....surely the words nice and Daewoo shouldn't be used in the same sentence! [:D]</font id="Comic Sans MS"></font id="size2">

Nice for a Daewoo perhaps, but it was a "nice" little car for an 18 year old girl, & she loved it dearly.

It had "nice" black seat covers, with lovely tropical flowers printed on them in pink, no less.

It had a transfer of that same "nice" tropical flowers across the back window.

It was a "nice" purple/pink sort of colour, quite fashionable at the time, so what else could an 18 year old girl want in a motor car Cobber.

I now qualify for an "old farts" insurance package. They treated the wedge as a collectors car and gave me a ridiculously cheap quote. All I had to get was a valuation certificate from an approved classic car evaluator. Theer are some benefits to being over 55.

Still standing !
