Retro Car Show Santa Pod ( photo heavy )

Postby john 215 » 02 Jul 2012 06:35

Hi,

Went up to this show yesterday, if you like modified ( and standard ) cars from the 60's to 90's and drag racing then this is the show for you. Jioned the TR Register stand and the TR Yoof, all looking very slightly worse for wear and partying until 4 am [:p]. A great day, despite the rain showers, and always good to meet old and new friends, and a big thanks to Wayne for the pass [8D].

A few pictures of the day -

Not to mention cars hitting the wall at 3/4 track when Steve Green's 6 litre Wildcat Rover V8 powered Ford Cortina Mk1 bottom hose popped off and water getting on the rear tyres. A bl88dy great driving job [:0] i am sure you would agree. And the Mk1 Escort rear wheel falling off [:p]

yes, I think the wheel coming off the Escort was the highlight of the day for my boys [:D]

I think they need to go to a top fuel day now, it's addictive stuff

man you guys have quite the odd ball drag cars over there !

The Olds looks like a old north-American pro-stock car, wonder what it's origins are ???

The Rover on the other hand is The Bomb !

Hi Ron,

Although we have some excellent chassis builders over this side of the pond, i would guess that Olds Cutlass started life your side. Races in our Super Modified class, 7 second door slammers [8D] A diverse bunch of cars [}:)]
