Brake master rebuild

Hello all!

I am currently busy with rebuilding my brake master cilinder but i encounter some problems.
i have new cups placed and cleaned everything very good. When i put it all together and test it on the bench i get some fluid out of the first brake pipe exit but the last exit (the one at the end of the cilinder) is giving me no fluid at all.
I noticed that when sliding in the first piston (for the last brake line exit) was not going easy and it seems to me that the spring can not return the piston when it is pressed in.

There are two type of springs in there a softer and a stronger spring. Which goes where? as my manual and other books don`t mention anything.

Maybe someone has some advice?

Can't help you there.
If I do have problems with one of the hydraulic cylinders on the cars I go over to a brake specialist in the neighbouring village.
There I exchange the old unit for a new unit [:)]
Easy and rather cost effective.

This should help. Another example of necessity of taking lots of pictures so you know how it goes back together. Easy to say I'll remember almost as easy as kicking yourself in the butt for not taking enough. I know. I've done it. I would suggest using the red rubber grease to provide initial lubrication as wellas protecting cylinder that brake fluid doesn't touch.

You don't have the brake warning switch installed do you? It is not suppose to be inserted when bleeding the brakes.

I did get it working yesterday, finally [:I] i did take pictures of how it initially was but i wanted to make sure that is is supposed to be like this. We tried it before with original setup and it didn`t work. But maybe it could have been the brake switch which i left in place when bleeding. We had it removed yesterday to check if it was not leaking from there and everything went well after that. Also did the clutch yesterday and that went perfect first time! i think that was the first part of the car that worked first time, even with all the new parts [:D]

I just posted this on a clutch thread but I think its worth posting here. When you rebuild a hyd cylinder get a small hone from the auto parts store and hone the cylinder to give you the proper sealing surface to mate with the new seals. If you buy a rebuilt assembly, you'll find the cylinder has been honed. The rebuild will last a lot longer.
