hI all , could you tell me what is the truth about the following.
As my Tr is 28 yrs old , i do not have to have the pipe up the exhaust for the MOT as it is pre cat and all i have to do when the mot comes a long is tell the nice man who is going to take £40.00 off me the same????

As far as i know,you still need to have the pipe put up the exhaust,so the mot tester can check your c/o emissions are not above 4.5%.Thats what happens with mine.

Sorry mate, as an MOT tester unless your car is pre 75 or on a Q plate you have got to have a pipe up your bottom......sorry i mean a measured exhast emmisions test, however as a pre 85 vehicle it is to a limit of 4.5 % co which can be tested at up to 2000rpm. If your car does not pass this test you probably have a serious problem anyway.

Many thanks , i thought it sounded strange when i was told it ,but i was in a pub at the time nad already had a couple of sherberts by then.
