What I really meant when I said Super 8 has to be seen to be believed is seeing the actual Super 8 original and not a video transfer. The films I've shot over the years are a single one-off copy and whatever you do with it from there reduces the quality significantly. Kodachrome was a process similar to Technicolor i.e. it was a black and white process that became colour during processing.

Any time anyone is down this way (i.e. Cornwall) and wants to take a look I'll be more than happy.

That's really nice Gaz. The images of my own home cinema need updating as the projection port hole was only done a year ago but you may find the home cinema pages on www.bfcc.biz interesting. We no longer have the place in London but the 10ft screen now lives in the living room here. The dining room is fully geared up as a cinema.

Now you've started me off... I rather fancy watching my 35mm print of Alien now. Dammit, no work is going to get done today!

thats what i like to see proper cinema seats with cup holders aswell
unfortinatly i didn't have room for the real things which is why i ended up with the minibus seats i figured with only 6' width it was the only way to go.....oh! and the seat belts come in handy for watching the fast and the furious and for using with the baby seat lol
so my screen is only 6' wide but thats a respectable 80" on a diagonal and with surround sound you get a real cinema feel

my photo's to need up dating, a while ago now i got into magnifying light and the understanding of projection of light and what have ya and ended up making a few different projectors two of which can be seen in the photos and neither of are actually used any more i built a LCD one as well but was never quite happy with any of them but the home cinema bug got me and these days i use a Sahara dlp hi-def projector which i am more than happy with
oh and thanks for the link john i will have a good look around that site cheers Garry

Yes Paul, I do have a 35mm print of 'The Fifth Element'. No other method of watching this film comes close to the quality of a theatrical 35mm print.

Anytime you're ready Paul and it will go on... all seven reels of it!
