I never use my wipers even i heavy rain, always use Rain X

But would like to have good wipers is there a different motor that can be used from another car

without much modification ??
If it's not broke don't fix it.

Yes, I think.
When I had problems with mine I bought a new one on ebay which was boxed as a LRW110, for a Land Rover IIRC but also listed for the TR7. (Just checked, it was listed as 'Windscreen Wiper Motor Unit Genuine OEM Lucas Land Rover 3 90 110 Defender', think the description mentioned TR7).
I got my original sorted with some adjustment so have never actually fitted it but it all looks the same including the connector plug. You do have to transfer the main drive cog as that is car model dependent but it includes the self park switch.
