Circuit Diagram in AutoCad format

A few weeks ago I realised that over the past 10 years my 7 wiring has been substantially changed by me (electronic ignition / LED lights / electric fan / driving lights etc) but the wiring diagram cannot be updated.

Because the original wiring diagram is a difficult to read, I am preparing a new version for a European standard 81 DHC as an AutoCad .dwg file. Initially I will redraw the Triumph original wiring diagram with an improved layout which will show the location in addition to the circuit. At the present rate of progress it will be a couple of months before its ready, but if anyone wants a copy for their use, please PM me.

I will issue it under an open source licence so anyone can use / modify / redistribute it so long as they allow anyone they pass it to the same rights.

That would be excellent,as you say the existing drawings are a pain if like me your eyesight is not what it was.

Years ago somebody did actual colour diagrams for the different Spitfires (no more colour coding) and had them printed and laminated and sold them on line etc. for nominal amounts (I have two). Might be an untapped market for TR7's. Or if you printed (saved) them to jpg members could get them printed on 11x17 and laminated at your local Staples. Not sure if what ever program I have imports Auto Cad.

Thats a very good idea - when I have finished I will arrange for them to be available as PDF colour copies & can provide laminated versions for a small fee.

One thing I need to check is the direction of rotation of the distributor - clockwise or anti - so that I can add it to the drawing. (I am not home to check for myself)

The drawing will be for the 1980 DHC UK standard with manual transmission but shouldn't be difficult to change to another version. Its taking longer than I expected but if anyone has details of the internal connections for the following it would help:-

Head Lamp Timer Unit
Main/Dip/Flash switch
Ignition switch
