Hi people
I am looking to buy my first TR7 and will obviously need some insurance
So who would people recommend to use for this and any rough idea's of what its likely to set me back

Over the past few years I've migrated to Peter S Taylor: 01273 820303 for my classic insurance.

I have several classics on one policy and have the ability to add or remove more (as I do frequently) for a tenner a time. Obviously more premium to add if the car is (much) higher value.

Restricted to 3k miles, and not having to be garaged, I pay approx £105 for either a V8 or standard TR7 fully comprehensive for a year. From memory I think the agreed value for one was about £2.5k and the other £1.5k - didn't affect premium.

I think pre 1980 also positively affects the premium. I have one 1960s classic covered for £20k for £130 ish, but a 1980s one for £10k that costs £165 ish.

Easy to deal with - no call centre!

I can also vouch for Peter S Taylor
under £80 for me and the missus, when I put the white one on the policy (which was about 4 months) they charged me £30 for the duration of the cover you can even add another driver as long as there over 25 for a tenner

Got mine via Towergate who are the brokers for the TR Register.
Cost was £130 for a Sprint engined TR7 which gives fully comp insurance and includes breakdown cover. Mileage is limited to 2000 (my choice) but the car doesn't need to be garaged which is useful.

I'm with Peter James - Standard 2.0 DHC - TSSC agreed value at £3.5k, unlimited mileage and business use, european breakdown cover. Fully comp comes to £105.

forgot to mention car isn't garaged and agreed value £5000 I have been with them since i got the car on the road and its always been under the £80 mark

Hi,

With Footman James, both cars on one policy and considering the mods on the DHC very reasonable.

Make sure you jion a club ( i suggest the best - The TR Drivers Club ) and you will get a discount with most leading insurance company's
