Knebworth Park Yesterday

Postby john 215 » 28 Aug 2012 17:53

Hi,

Went along to this one yesterday, got there, parked up, only TR in the village [:(] BUT over hill came a dozen or so TR's [:D] The lead gent, who just happens to own the best UK spec real TR8 IMHO and won the master's in concourse at Malvern a fornight ago so I am not the only one to have that opinion, stopped and invited me to jion them, faith restored in the TR Register, well the North London Group anyway. Had a great day with a excellent bunch of ladies and gents, a few pictures -

Another great lot of pictures John, thanks for sharing.

Some real beauties in there - don't think I have ever seen a Darracq outside of a museum before! Good to hear you were made welcome by Howard & the Register group.

Excellent, North London Group are always a good crack - especially when Howards on the loose! lol [:D] Good to see our Steve Redway on the commentary duties as well!! He's not quite hung up the microphone yet then.

Looks great show as ever, couldn't make it this time as I had to work but had a great time at Silverstone on Sunday for the World Endurance Championship!

Hi,

Not as big as other years but weather didnt help with several showers. Despite this was great to see Howard drives his car when other concourse car's end up being trailored everywhere, it really is the best TR8 out there and so rare, number 9 of 18. Funny seeing Steve there so use to seeing him at Malvern or Harrogate ! He looked at home though and injected to fun into things with displays such as a exhaust sound off !! As you say Wayne, North London Group great bunch of ladies and gents [8D], they meet just over 20 miles from here so feel a Thursday evening out comming up [:D]

Tony, the Darracq was a treat and like you never seen one outside a museum, was parked next to a real blower Bentley both not exactley cheap classics !! Car of the show turned out to be a bog standard but very straight VW Beetle, show's you dont need to spend 10's of thousands of pounds on a rare car.

Cheers John

The TR8 looks absolutely perfect, I bet the factory never turned one looking THAT good. I wonder if it get driven much ?

Lots of other really nice stuff too, just makes you wish I had the money and space to have a collection of them.

Hi,

Howards TR8 has been restored and an excellent job he has done, as mentioned won the masters class at TR Register International this year which makes it the ' cream of the cream ' It was driven there on Sunday loaded down with club flags ect.

Taken at Malvern this year -

I could spend all day looking at Howards TR8 and I'm a coupe man as well. It's the best I've seen and full marks to him for actually driving the car as well. I was talking with the owner of a stunning
concourse Ford Escort Mexico at a local show last weekend and he
never drove the car and would not even wind the windows down for fear
of scratching the glass, mind you he said it was worth upwards of £55000 if he was to sell. Howards TR8 is just as good and worth less than half of that I'd expect, I know which one I'd rather have.
