Can anybody shed any light on my dilema (no pun intended!)? Is there supposed to be a buzzer that operates when the seat belts are not used correctly? My seat belt warning light on the dashboard works exactly as it should (off with no passenger, on when passenger without seat belt but off again when passenger seat belt is connected) IF (and only IF) I run a shorting cable from the green/orange cable from the rear part of the wiring loom to the green/orange cable for the seatbelt warning light on the console.
The problem appears to be slightly more intriguing because the green/orange cable from the rear part of the loom connects to a black/blue cable in the front part of the loom. To further compound the problem, my Pecktron unit appears to be a seat belt warning buzzer. I cannot get my light pods to raise on flash, but the lamps light up! The pods raise when normally selected.
Does this sound like someone has mixed and matched wiring looms in the past, or might I have a deeper problem. I really am not too electrically savvy, but this all appears to be a related problem - will solving the seat belt buzzer mystery solve the mystery of my pods not raising?
Everything else electrical in my coupe works fine EXCEPT the symptons described.
