Hi,
It was good to meet up Tuesday night!! Greetings to all who were there. If I'd arrived 10 minutes later I'd have been parked on the street.
What a Jensen and Sprite/Midget fest! I've never seen more than 2 Interceptors at the same time before and these were stacked up. Heard some stories about how one guy bought an Interceptor for £4,500 and in much better nick than one his other bought for 4 times more from a dealer.......There was also an example of the last Jensen model made, very different from what went before it.
Most modified car present wasn't mine or John's V8 conversions but a Rover V8 powered Midget with Sierra 4x4 transmission and drive train. Under bonnet clearance issues were cured by cutting a large hole in the bonnet and sticking a huge scoop on the 4 barrel carb.
One of the straightest and cleanest cars was a late arrival lowered hot Anglia with period banded wheels. Very understated once the engine was silent. An impressive and expensive Riley RM also looked good.
Highlight was having a good natter with John & daughter, Zoe, Sandi, Steve and others. Not so great was having to wait 30 mins for the Rolls Royce owner who'd boxed me in to be found. In fairness the stewards had told him to park there earlier when the place was packed. (mines the dark blue 7V8 with its cruise lights on in John's pics)
Must try to pack the camera and arrive earlier next time.
Adam
