Could we plan a UK members TR Drivers trip over to see the collection?

Funnily enough John I'd thought the same thing. There is a big Triumph show next year in North Carolina that could all tie together nicely. I don't know if that show has been announced yet but as the VTR convention for this year has just finished I doubt it's still a secret. But I won't say any more until someone on here confirms all the plans.

Here is part of an email from Fot email list, it might be something to add to the trip...Paul

Next June at Mosport Bob Tullius will be present along with the Group 44
TR-6 and it will be the inaugural awarding of the Group 44 Inc. award. Bob ran Mosport very successfully a number of times and has fond memories I am sure he will discuss with the group. If Chris has never been to Mosport this may be a golden opportunity. Those of us that have run there have it quickly become our favorite track and return every year.
Mosport 2014 will also be the site of the Triumph - MG Challenge which will bring out a strong showing from both sides in addition to a multitude of street cars for the weekend. The very first race at Mosport was won by a Triumph TR-3 so there is definitely a history there for us.

It is indeed OOM 512R. How much of a claim it actually has to the plate is not known as there is at least one other car wearing it and registered in the UK I think. But with a career of three or four years clearly more than one car wore OOM 512R during the 'Works' rally days. Whatever, it's a great car and very authentic looking. I would have liked to have driven it home but the Atlantic got in the way. That and Vernon wouldn't let me!

Paul, please (please!) make a reminder thread in the events section come spring time ......North Carolina is a tad too far a haul , but Mosport on the other hand would be quite do-able on a weekend [8][8][8]

After all the hard work and money JC has invested in this I personally think this should become a sticky. Who agrees?

Well I'm currently stuck with about 800 copies, that's for sure!

I did list half a dozen copies on eBay earlier in the week and I'm surprised no one has purchased one yet. Perhaps the TR7/8 is no longer the Triumph that generates most enthusiasm by the ownership. Stag is the only other DVD that competes with TR7/8 for most DVDs sold. It's certainly been interesting seeing the appeal some models have whilst others have practically none.
