Hi Simon,

Don't these things try our believes some days !!

Got my tent out last night, was going to air it out but still 30+c at 7 o'clock down here in the soooouuuuutttth, actually saw 36c on car outside temp gauge whilst sitting on M25 car park at about 4pm  Found the broken tent pole that I had forgotten about so repaired that. Note to self must remember to tax car before this time tomorrow !

What time you gents planning on arriving tomorrow ?

Cheers John

Hi,

Put tent up..... repaired the cracked tent pole I had forgot about from last year, repaired a hole  that was a bit of surprise, may be last outing for this one  Packed it all away about ten last night and once again it refused to go back in its original bag, obviously these bags shrink soon as the tent is removed for the first time :D

Tax the DHC in a moment, get her off stands she has sat on since Stoneliegh, dust her off, pack her and try and ease my bad back into her see you gents over the weekend.

Safe journeys to you all and drive carefully, you are not on the road run yet

Cheers John

Looking to drive up on Saturday morning. Heading up from the wrong side of Silverstone so a big detour to avoid the traffic jams around the circuit & the one way system, a friend who was up in the area a week ago tells me the road works on the M1 are bad too around Northampton. All in all not looking forward to the journey but see you all sometime!

Hi,

Good point Tony, avoid A45 around Silverstone also contra-flow from the M6 down to Northampton with 50mph average speed cameras. Going to take a drive via country side to get there from here

This year i held back from going home due to traffic from the F1 and the road works, did not start the drive back till just after 5pm.

A steady 55/60 mph all the way home, with a 10 minute stop for the call of nature and a keep me awake power drink, did the trip from Billing to Glasgow arriving back home at 11.45 pm.

The car drove absolutely perfect, and it wasn't till this morning i realized i did the journey all the way home with the radio switched off, must have had my head full and thinking of what a fantastic weekend with fellow TR nuts i had just had - parked up the car and went straight to bed.

Thanks for all who organised everything.

Will put up photos later.

Wow, that's a journey, mine paled into insignificance next to it. An hour and a half, stopping for a comfort break and a sandwich at Morrison's in Spalding.
As to the weekend, I thoroughly enjoyed it as did my friend Ben, we loved the run to the pub and the bar tent was spot on.
It cannot be underestimated the amount of effort that the organisers put into this event and I thank them wholeheartedly. I hope that they got as much enjoyment as we did and suffered minimal stress in the process.
Thanks again, Calvin and Ben.

I left a bit early to avoid the Silverstone crowd. Worked well with no problems on the M1 and only slow congestion around the M3 junction on the M25, 135 miles in 2 1/4 hours (I don't stop unless SWMBO moans and she doesn't go in the 7).
I have to second the thanks to the organisers, I don't know how they find the time but they do a great job.
