The lobe had a gold spot like almost the same color as the filings, just before the high spot on the cam. If I it isn't raining like usual I'll try and take a picture, there was also little bits of the same copper or brass dust suspended in oil on top of the bearing cap right next to it. Im just starting to worry that the tappets are coincidentally out of adjustment and there's also a bad rod or main bearing. I have a cam and tappets from another 80 head that I bought to repair the 76 before finding out the 76 motor locked up from rain and snow over the winter, is it a bad idea to switch the cam and tappets with those used ones. The only thing is the tappets were all in a pickle jar and not in order when the guy sent them to me.
