Is anyone planning to camp this year? I'm thinking of camping Friday night.

Jim, are you making any progress on getting your car running reliably?

Ken, it isn't running reliably enough to go on a big tour or anything but it should get me the ten miles or so that it is to PIR. As long as it doesn't die on the I-5 bridge I should be okay. I drove all over Vancouver yesterday morning without any problem. Then when I tried to start it yesterday afternoon, it wouldn't.

Not sure if I'm going to be able to camp or not. I'm supposed to be working this project, which has been pushed back several times now, and I'll be on the road a lot. I may not get home until late Friday night and there probably won't be any place to pitch the tent. Then again, if they keep pushing the project schedule back, maybe I won't have gone anywhere yet.

Registered today (second last day), no need to rush these things. Won't be camping this year, can't stand not having a shower every day (didn't bother me when I was younger, funny that). Registration went smoothly picture was uploaded instantly and automatically to web site. I guess they got that sorted out now. I included the BBQ dinner for the first time to say I did it at least once.

See you all there.

The weather forcast isn't looking too bad. Mid 70s and dry Saturday but scattered showers Sunday. A nice break from the heat of the last couple years. I am not camping this year because of work. I will probably stop by the "Noggin and Natter" Friday on my way home from work and then get up Saturday morning and blast over the bridge to the show.

How many 7 and 8 going to Portland. I can't seem to make their web site work.

There is no way to tell with this new format. It only shows photos of the cars that people actually sent a photo in for, or in Darrell's case a Jag XKR where his TR8 should be. The old format let you search a spreadsheet and you could tell how many of any kind of car were registered.

The weather forecast has improved. Mid 80s both days with the rain holding off until Monday. I swung by there on the way home from work tonight. Campsites are already starting to fill up. Wish I could camp but it is not going to happen this year. With any luck my car won't die on the I-5 bridge Saturday morning. Looking forward to see how many wedgies do show up.

Just get up a good head of steam before you hit the bridge! :)

See you all there!

I stopped by PIR on the way home tonight and got my registration pack and had a beer and talked to Ken and others for a bit. Came home to get the car a wash before tomorrow morning and it won't start at all now. I'm pretty bummed out. I talked to another wedge guy tonight, who will be there in his '71 TR6 tomorrow, and he pretty much convinced me that the Lucas distributor is the culprit. At that time I still thought that I'd get it running long enough to drive the 10 miles to the venue. Maybe someone at the swap meet will have a cheap replacement but it looks like I'll be driving the Subaru over in the morning. [:(]

That sucks! If I get a chance, I can dig out my old Pertronix if you want to try swapping out the Lucas guts. I installed the Ignitor II because I suspected a problem with the original unit, but I actually now think it was just fine.

Darrell, that would be super. How much trouble is swapping the guts? I would really really appreciate it. I'll send you an email with my phone number.

Saw you at the registation tent but was talking to some members from my club (MGA) but by the time I could get away you were gone. Said hi to Ken. Ron had what could have been a life ending incident after our racing on the winding 17 mile run to Long Beach for breakfast but that's another post for general wedge chit chat. Keep you guys in suspense for now as I have to find a place to wash the car after it's dirty rain soaked run through Forks (vampire country of the Twilight type).

Gee Merv I'm sorry I missed you. I will be out there tomorrow. I did get the car going and I just finished washing it in the dark. We'll see what the morning holds. Hopefully it will be Triumphant and not Subaruie.

Darrell Walker rescued me. I didn't make it out there with the Triumph today but I should be there tomorrow.
