Id dare bet that either the wire as come off the switch that screws into the gearbox there or the switch itself is faulty. Just a tip to try matey.

I'll have to have a look at my reversing lights which also don't work (but the car passed its MOT!).

I have a slight interest in old industrial relics and railway lines have an extra interest in that you can sometimes cycle along them - you get deep into the countryside and there are no steep inclines [:)] Some of the best areas for disused stations and good scenery are in the Wye valleys - note they are not the same river:
