Two & a half. The 7 FHC, the 8 DHC, & the spares car.

I have a lady who these days is not only disinterested, but might be loosing her bottle, or suffering from reverse snobbery perhaps.

This is a lady who has done over 10,000 offshore miles in a yacht, & although she used to love weekend trips on the 7s, the other day she hinted she would rather go somewhere in the new Ford Fiesta than the Honda S2000 or the 7. [:0] Can you believe that? [xx(]

Do you think it could be a result of my referring to the makeup she markets, as camouflage paint, [}:)] once in jest? [:D]

one TR7 right now ( at 15 years it's the longest I've ever owned any car ...)

The current fleet is small for a change,(I've been up to 5 mixed vehicles on a few occasions)
I'm lucky to have a 2km work commute, the only other car is a Chevy mini-van and a couple of bicycles. I was just visiting the Giant store earlier today, and will probably add a new road bike to my collection very soon [:p]

My dear friend, Hasbeen, it is most definitely not camouflage paint. The correct term we use down at the Bernice's Curl Up & Dye is, 'spackling'. Yes, that's right, 'spackling' is a construction term. In both applications, it serves to offer a visually pleasing surface.

Only one at present,TR8 DHC, but if the right TR7 FHC came up it could well be two. It would have to be a very nice,standard late model low mileage car though for me to part with the cash. [:D]

I'm on my third wedge - but

5615 HJ 1962 Triumph Courier owned by me since 1981 sadly been stuck in the garage for too many years.
LNO 821J Triumph 1500 FWD bought 1981 we drove all over the place in this one.
DGL 1D MK2 Spitfire with Lenham hard top bought for £40.00 and sold for £800 1980 - 1985
RVW 320W Red DHC sold in 1994 to fund TR8
XXX XXT Triumph 1500SE nice car horrible carpets - changed the front end to fit double headlights.
YWC 155X Poseidon Green DHC bought for £100 in August 1999 sadly died on the operating table - but did give up quite a few parts for lots of other cars.
KDU 315V TR8 DHC bought in 1994 still pouring loads of money into to maintain the Poseidon Greens!

+ about 15-20 other dolomites and 2000s and a convertible herald that also gave up their lives for others!
Oh and a Morris Oxford bought for £30 and sold before getting it home (claim to fame - won the roll over competition at arena Essex raceway , banger racing)

That'll do for the moment.

Hi Hasbeen,

Think Triumph Herald estate light van - mine has side windows fitted and rear seat.
There was a tax dodge when these were nearly new - you bought a van (low purchase tax) then had windows and a rear seat fitted. Thust saving a few pounds[:D]

Prior to this 3 x TR7 fhc, 1 x TR7 dhc and lhd TR8 efi.

So 8 in total and still have a look on whats on offer

Now 4. Usually keep for at least 5 years, longest now 23 years. None are for sale. I can't stop looking at what comes up but I'm now out of space.

When I recently sorted out my Agreed Value Insurance they were all valued way above their purchase price. On paper they have out performed anything a bank or building society can offer. Tell your wife that and gloss over the heaps of money poured in and the fact that a valuation and what you can actually get if sold are two different things!

I also tell her that some people collect stamps and its pretty much the same thing but bigger. Plus I don't drink, smoke, gamble or chase other women!
