I like the white sill too, but maybe it could use the black lower bodyside moulding for a little contrast ??

Definitely the second option, the bodyside moulding.

The all white looks a bit too much and the factory original black sills look positively cheap and lazy design to me.

My white coupe will have the black moulding as per your proposal.

All IMHO of course.

Black for me as well, along with the satin Black
rear light panel to match.

But I'm just pleased to see another early car find a good home.

Gaz, there's a White very late Speke coupe on ebay at the mo, which
I went along and had a look at.

Just in case you wanted to compliment your early White car [;)]

A matching pair.

Roy

Yeah - I saw that one too:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-TR7-1-owner-full-service-history-39k-miles-all-old-mots-mot-taxed-/150824602009?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item231dd8c999

But waaaaaay too far south for me. Lots better than this one I'd say, but twice as much money. But no where near as nice looking as that red one a few weeks ago. For me, buy TR7s either top money or bottom dollar - the ones in between can be an expensive affair.

I quite like the moulding pic. But I'm still convinced on the black. I can see white is the most popular though.

This other Speke of mine has the black mouldings over colour coded sills. This was orginally Java, but the PO painted it Ford Rosso red.

But when I look at my non-Speke gold one - I'm really convinced on the black:

Early Speke car at Prescott with 'solid' colour sills and back pannel not to mention the illegal plates [:p]

There is almost a "best of both worlds" answer to the black/white sills scenario which would probably work for the rear panel too.

It's modern vinyl wrapping. It can be applied and removed with no damage to existing paintwork and is available in satin/matt/gloss black or virtually whatever colour takes your fancy.

The profile of the sills means that it wouldn't be a very complicated application so should be achievable on a DIY basis. Wrapping could be an interesting alternative without the commitment to a permanent paint job.

It's actually Schutz on the sills which is a spray on anti-chip coating. There was a yellow drophead at Prescott which had the Speke satin black rear light panel and I have to say it looked stunning - the yellow and black really worked.
