Ok let me see if i get this right???

If what I am doing now does not work ??
I have another alternative which would be to ajust the timing by installing a ajustable cam sproket??

by ajusting the sproket I can then advance or retard the process to compensate for what ever the hell a did wrong twice.

If this is true ??of course it is!!

Where do i get the one that fits in our tr7's??

is there a way to install it without taking the timing cover out???

To feel so close and to be so far.

Nope!! it's still not running ,Maybe next week???

Zeke,
Before I took the head off I would try to measure the thickness of what you have - you may be fine. Don't create more work for yourself! Stag76 gave you the spot on the head where it's done. My machinist got the minimum/maximum spec out of a book right on his work counter so I don't think it would too hard to get from yours. It took a matter of minutes to check. Another check, if you've ground off too much material on the head the compression will tell the tale. I believe, in theory, you can clamp the timing chain so that it doesn't release tension on the chain tensioner and then you can replace the sprocket. I don't think this has anything to do with your low oil pressure or engine knock.
All the best,
Jim

Don't take anything apart unless there is a problem...see how it runs first. Compression of 100psi shouldn't be a problem. American engines had a compression ratio of 8:1, while English cars ran 9.25:1, so there is plenty of increase allowable, and the milled head that you have shown us will be well within these limits. To check the cam timing, remove the rocker cover, and check that the timing mark on the cam lines up with No 1 Cylinder at TDC. If it's within 3mm it will be fine (probably closer than an engine with a worn chain).
