Big brake kit. E bay. anyone seen this?

Just curious if anyone else had seen this and what their thoughts were. 12" kit is prety big. I don't realy have intentions of getting it but was curious about what others thought.

I sent them an e-mail about a template (their link does not work) and also about the rear disk kit so if I get an answer I will post the info to the forum.

Yes it does look like the kit Woody sells except Woody's is a 10" rotor and this one is 12" they say 16" wheels are needed with it.

Nice looking kit, Â£640 ish not a bad price but shipping will not be cheap! Steve at S+S had a HUGE disc kit for sale second hand back in the summer

Interesting that the Revolution Brake web site lists this kit for 2,000 versus what the asking price is on e-pay... The template is there as well, but it's not available for download.

I also noticed that the TR7 kit on the site was listed for $2000. I am asssuming maybe it comes with front rear and SST lines etc But even still going by the pricing on flee bay it would be better to buy there. It's the weekend so I don't expect a responce but hopefully monday I will get something back aboout the rear kit and also the template.

Actually, if you read further down the ebay listing, it says they are overstocked and selling at a reduced price.

Strange though, on their site almost all the other kits are going for the $695-$895 price range... [:0]

Ah, missed that... It looks like a nice kit, but won't fit with my 13" wheels, like most other kits... Sigh...

Sent them an e Mail on Sat. and mentioned that maybe 1% have 16" wheels and possibly 85 % who do wheel changes usually go to 15".
Also said there were many who were intrigued by the rear disk mention and would like more info on that.

Got this answer back from them. Looks like no rear brake kit. I have not printed out the PDF he has sent me yet but maybe tonight I will have time.

I'm afraid the rear rotors offered for the TR7 / 8 are a mistake. We do not have such a thing and I apologize for the erroneous listing.

Here's the template you need. Its a .pdf which you print full size, make sure you select "No Scaling" in the print dialog box. Then after it prints measure the vertical and horizontal reference to make sure its the right size. This is not a trivial exercise, if you print the template the wrong size it will give erroneous information. You could end up buying a brake kit that will not fit the wheels you intend to use. Please be careful to accurately measure the reference dimensions on the printed template to make sure they are as indicated.

Keep in mind that we are looking for about 2 mm of clearance at the wheel spoke, thatâ€™s about the thickness of 2 CDâ€™s. If you experience interference between the template and the wheel spoke, itâ€™s important to figure out just how badly the caliper and wheel collide. It is possible to print multiple copies of the template and when cutting them out, leave more material in the area of the hub to act as a spacer. Adjusting the thickness of the extra material on the template will allow fine tuning of the spacer thickness to yield the required clearance at the caliper. Be sure to make any â€œspacerâ€ you add to the template of uniform thickness, that is, always add any additional material parallel to the original cut line on the template.

If you experience a small amount of interference, frequently it is possible to gain the required clearance by adding what we call a â€œwheel shimâ€. We can supply these in 3 mm thick and they typically do not require the use of longer studs.

Instructions are included.
