Electric Fan

Postby The Old One » 17 Oct 2010 18:58

I want to go the electric fan route
Can i just buy a second hand fan from a scrappie and
buy a thermostatic fan switch that i can fix into the
top of the radiator. If so does anyone know which switch
i should buy.

Thanks

Tony

I have a fiesta fan and switch on my V8, get on off an air con car as they are usually more powerfull.

The fiesta switch is M22 thread, I have added a adaptor in the top hose, I made mine on the lathe but you can buy them for around £20, you can also get bosses soldered into the radiator.

You also need to use a relay and as the starting current is high a seperate fused feed is ideal.

Hi,

Just a word of warning, ensure the fan is wired to spin the correct direction and the blade are designed to spin the direction you want it to spin, suck or blow [:I][:0] If mounted in front or behind the radiator

Cheers John
