I had 185 55 15s on the front quite happily, but as a poor mans way of raising the ground clearance a little, I fitted 185 60 15s. These are 2" greater diameter, giving an inch extra ground clearance. It could then clear some speed bumps.

Hasbeen, are these chinese tyres? I make the difference between 186/55 and 185/60 to be 18.5mm (or just under 3/4") dia so would lift the car 9.25mm (or a bit less than 3/8"), or is it my chinese calculator?

Alan, could you be thinking 13s, I don't know the difference in them.

You had me concerned, so, although my tyre company had assured me of the rolling diameter, I just went & checked. I still use one of the 185 55 15s as spare.

These are the good Pirelli's, not the Asian ones, & they measure;

185 55 15 OD, 22"

185 60 15 OD, 24", with both at 28PSI.

There is a very real difference in how they fill the front wheel arch. The 60s look much better.

Hi Hasbeen. Its not just the carbs. The car has the TrimuphTune fastroad conversion - cam, 45DCOE's and branch exhaust system. Make sit slightly more economical than my 4.6 Range Rover. I bought the car like that and I cant say I have ever meaured the consumption. I know it isnt great though !

Sorry Hasbeen, too much work and not enough sleep to read properly.
