Looking at the photos from Clay, my first ride in a car was in my Dad's 1968 Dodge Dart, the ride home from the hospital. My Dad's was red with a white hard top. It was was a cool car.

My first car was black 75 TR7, which I still own. It is off the road now and needs a lot of work my young family takes up most of my time. Then I added a 1982 Audi Coupe. Which was replaced by a 1991 Nissan NX1600. Then I added a 1980 TR8 convertible. The Nissan was replaced by 1995 240SX which was sold for a 2002 BMW 320i. Still have the TR8, should have another TR7 on the road next year, also my wife has 95 Mazda MX3 and 1960 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. So the driveway is always full.

My Mother still has a Sunbeam Alpine sitting in her garage. It has wire wheels and a hard top. Been there for 35 years.

Ok the Blues Brothers drove a Dodge (I've got the movie poster on my office wall). Everytime I see someone driving a cop car I wonder if they're in "The Band". Nice hair by the way.
That Alpine sounds like it would be a nice one Clay.
I bought mine as is in the picture with new paint at a Plymouth dealer for $400.00, I wanted the new Barracuda but Dad wasn't going for it.

That picture is clearly taken in my back yard, so definitely not in Holland but in another part of the Netherlands [:D]

As for my first car ...

Geez, I'm 52 and haven't had half the cars that some of you have.
My first was a '62 Spitfire with a '65 Mk II drive line and massive rust holes.
Then I transferred all of the mechanicals from that car into a solid but dented '68 body.
Then
'69 TR6
'71 TR6
'73 BMW Bavaria
'80 TR7
'87 Nissan Sentra
'86 Dodge Caravan 5spd ouch.
'93 Ford Escort
'89 Nissan Maxima SE 5 spd
'92 Nissan Maxima SE 5 spd
'97 Nissan Maxima SE 5 spd Still have these 3.
'80 TR8
'94 Ford F-150 5 spd 4.9 litre inline 6 cyl

I have never owned a car with an automatic, unless you count my son's '90 Saab 900 convertable or my wife's 2007 Subaru Outback because my name is on the title. The biggest money pit I ever owned was the '86 Dodge Caravan. I had Dodge tell me that because it had over 150,000 miles on it they couldn't promise any repairs. Like the new engine that only lasted 14,000 miles.

The '69 TR6 had 210,000 miles on it when I retired it. Never had any engine work. The Maximas all went over 170,000 miles the current one (the '97) has 228,000 miles and never had any engine work.

My first car was my 1980 TR7 DHC that I just recently removed from storage so I can start the work to get her back on the road.
